a simplicitacious life

{August 27, 2008}   a strange turn of events

i’m back in cambodia!
but this time i’m not in Siem Reap..
i’m at a place called Sihanoukville..
its a four hour bus ride from Phnom Penh…
well, if u’re rich enough, u can hire a car.. its ONLY 80USD (so expensive!) but it cuts your travel time in half..

well, anyways, i’m here for a conference..
its a general conference by SEAPC called Friends around the Table..
all the leaders of the different countries, that seapc is working on, are here giving their updates, talking about what they are planning to do in the future..
its a great opportunity for me to meet a lot of great people..
people who are smart, caring and giving..
only thing is, i’m the youngest person here
and they think i’m married..
damn insulting
sigh~
i think its the ring that i’m wearing
should take it off…

to cut the story short, i’m learning a lot here..
i’ve gotten ideas and of course am getting a lot of contacts to help with what i want to do in the future

and of course, being me, i love taking pictures
the only problem is, i’m using a dslr that i’m not used to..
(dont own a dslr)
and a lense thats apparently very hard to use..
the prime 50mm lense.
so all the pictures that i took that i thought were going to turn out amazing, turned out like crap..
all the nice shots of cute kids on the beach..
ARGH!
i’m SO DAMN FRUSTRATED imma SCREAM!
i am seriously contemplating switching back to using my lil ixus…
we’ll see how things goes

i might extend my stay cos half of the group are heading to orphanages after the conference
the other half are heading to Laos
but if i stay i’ll have to forgo my current air ticket and purchase another
which reminds me..
we missed our flight here on saturday and had to get another set of tix for sunday morning
long story..
pretty interesting  adventure though..
ahahahaha..
dont think  stinky would agree with me
ahahahaha….

anyhow,  this is a picture that i took of this  ADORABLE kid by the beach
the focus is a little off
but whatever..
he’s too cute
so GERAM~

super cute right?!
he was laughing and smiling when i showed him the pictures that i took of him!
the look on his face was priceless!
i LOVE this kid!
we took some other pictures
i got to carry him..
i wanna adopt him!
like seriously..
cambodian kids are damn adorable!
okok i’m getting a little too disgustingly musshy hahaha
i’m gonna stop now

ahah, sounds funny :) seems like u’re havin fun there in Sihanoukville.

I thought married wearing their wedding ring on their left hand? Hmmmmm..maybe people there wear theirs on the right hand..hehehe……..

Look on the positive side is that they can see that you are matured although you are the youngest in the group. I will take it as a compliment.

He is indeed cute and charming. Can adopt him meh? I will adopt him too if I ma you. Hey, the picture turns out quite good. The 50mm lense is focusing on the little boy’s face hence blurred the hand. Good shot for an novice:) Keep up the good work.

When will you be coming back?

isis says:

wait…. you mean you’re NOT married?!?!?!?!? i always thought you were!!! :P

damn… must b the ring~ :)

felicia says:

they are! very sincere…well some of them at least. i met nice ones when i was there… =)

Kid says:

Another angelina jolie/ madonna to be…haha

albnok says:

Eh, the amazing pictures I took of you yonks ago were with a 50mm. That’s my main lens for gigs!

And the kids probably look at you and say with their faces “adopt meee!”
