and the finale!

good memories
i’m sure zebby would agree with me
;)

i’ve not got much time to blog
but what i’ve seen today has really touched a nerve somewhere inside me
no matter how poor these ppl are, no matter how much they suffered in the past and is still suffering,
they are happy with life.
they are grateful to be alive.
and that says a lot.

it only goes to show that, money really does NOT buy happiness.
just compare the depression rates between the people in the states and in cambodia
these people are happy!
happy to be alive!
and what is everyone else in the first and second world countries doing?
always being dissatisfied with what they have, what they own.

people here are so friendly!
everything is so laid back!
people stop to chat to us, people smile..
they aint like the people in big cities, always seemingly rushing for something like the world is going to end if they stop to smile for a sec.

oh well…

anyhow, here’s one interesting thing i did today
i’m not proud of em things and the creation and purpose of it
but it was still an experience

i know i have yet blogged bout it
neither have i posted pictures of the world music festival
will do it when i get my computer fixed

however, it does not stop me from missing it
it was the one time that musicians were treated like kings and queens in malaysia
or rather, they were respected
musicians, in malaysia, are still looked upon as poor useless things
some would acknowledge their talents, but thats about it.
a lot of event companies would hire musicians, and then treat them like crap while they lick the shoes of celebs
just goes to show how back dated malaysians are
wouldnt know how its like anywhere else in the world, but generally, in malaysia, thats the case.

i also miss how we could just walk down and play water polo with the other musicians.
it was one of the times that nearly everyone would come out and play
(not counting drinking sessions! haha)
its always fun to see croatians, canadians, kenyans, americans, malaysians, irish, and tibetan swish swashing around in a small pool trying to drive the ball home

there is also the beach
well, i dont think it can pass off as a beach seeing as its tiny and hopelessly shoreless
but still, it holds fond memories
besides, the last time i actually got to see a sunrise, or anything remotely close to it, was a long LONG time ago.
there were 2 meter long iguanas there too!
(eh, wait, were they iguanas or monitor lizards? are they the same???)
whatever it is, they were pretty cool
only got to see one
and it was walking so slowly into the rocks
its tongue sticking out like a doofus
one cool thing about the beach thou,
it had lots and lots of sea shells and star fishes!
i lurve the star fishes
forgot to bring some back.. sigh~
hmmm too bad the water was so dirty
would be nice to try to hunt for sea horses

what i miss most is the atmosphere and the company
would give anything to have that back
to be at the festival grounds with my friends
and to the beach with….

and, as they say, life is too short
way too short for regrets
never try, never know
but should i?

{May 17, 2008}   ah i miss writing

i miss my computer
i miss typing away when i feel like it
i miss having the freedom to surf the internet any time i want
i miss coming home to a working computer and internet at my disposal
i miss everything about my computer
(i’m using azeem’s computer now btw)

i’m reduced to having check my mail via my mobile phone
everything is so tiny
cant see pictures either
cant download pictures either either
ish… how annoying

i’ve come to realize that technology is important,
but no matter how important it is,
it fails us.

i’m using alvin’s laptop this time, in starbucks, bangsar.
few things to mention before going for dinner
linda’s here with me and we’re waiting for may and lallu to come

1) I’M GOING TO CAMBODIA NEXT WEEK!!!!!!
i know i know.. its very last min but who cares.. hahaha
its the spontaneous things in life that is most fun and enjoyable
besides, i’ll be going there with may, and hopefully pam and linda can come!

2) i met someone
he makes me laugh
he makes me happy
he makes my heart stop every time i think of him
he intrigues me
and i respect him
he’s the person i like to talk to at the end of every day
but too bad that cant happen
he’s not around.

3) Rock Up! was a success!!
thanks to bee sim and may and the whole entire team, everything went well
minus a few hiccups here and there
i was very VERY proud when the kids came up to perform
it felt as thou they were my own kids
i absolutely love them to bits
and it was a very very emotional day
from sad to happy to stressed to proud to nothing..
i wouldnt trade what rhythm rascals do for the world

ok, i think i better go, my headache is killing me..
still sick, and now, hungry
and linda is looking bored whilst alvin is dosing off
k k.. till next time (when i can steal some time on someone else’s computer)

what a great welcoming surprise from my beloved computer~
i was so excited to come back and blog about my trip to penang and this is what happens…
my penguin died!!!
