went for harith and jit’s show yesterday night…

was a stand up comedy..
harith darling booked me a ticket so when i got there there wasnt much of a hassle getting one

there were many ppl waiting outside actors studio @ bangsar
and according to harith, the show was sold out..

yea yea they got my name wrong..
the house wasnt full thou..
there were a couple of empty seats here and there..
elaine daly, carmen soo and patrick teoh was in the crowd..
amazingly this crowd was responsive..
i guess its cos there were older working people as opposed to a younger youth/student group
and that they understood the jokes and what was going on..

well, it started out with the opening act, zak ‘papi’ kamal
dont know whether he is new or not but i didnt find him funny
solely based on the fact that i think he is trying too hard to be russell peters
u can see it from his dressing, the way he does some of his actions, the way he talks..
i think he should just be himself and it’ll be much better..
and granted, he was very nervous and he was panting
at one point i thought he was going to lose it and run off stage..
or just freeze..
oh well, i’ll give him the benefit of the doubt..

than jit murad came on..
he has the whole british old school look about him..
the way he talks it rather slow and elaborated
his jokes were crudely funny thou..
loved his impersonations
and for the fact that he had the ’music stand’ in front of him and a songkok on it,
it looked like he was a pastor that is sesat on stage..
hahahahahaha…
and i liked it when he said he was going to call his next show ’eat, jit and die’
ahahaha…

harith came on last..
his set was the longest…
i think he did a great job..
well, its harith iskander we’re talking about
how can he not be good, right? hahaha
some of the stuff he said sounded ’familiar’..
hmmmm…
i think those conversations are getting somewhere
ahahahahahahaha..
ooooooh oooooooooohhh
i absolutely loved the csi joke..
and, its harith laaaa…..
he puts a lot of effort into them..
heart and effort
so of course what he says are always top form!

so ppl, if u are interested, please book your tickets in advance!
their shows are always a hit
and there is a possibility that most of the shows are already sold out..

every other day, zak will be opening for them..
on friday however, jj and rudy from hitz.fm will be the opening act..
douglas lim will only be doing the saturday show if i’m not mistaken

was really nice.
was in bangsar having late late lunch with rav and kuan may (sweetMAY) decided to drop by..
so we were sitting at nirvana talking and laughing..

after a while rav had to leave cos he had a meeting at 630pm..
and since we had a long brain frying weekend, me and sweetmay decided to go jalan jalan around bangsar..
and turns out, this girl knows bangsar like the back of her hand!
she knows every shop, where its located, where has the nicest shoes, clothes, dresses.. the works!

sweetmay was eyeing this dress at coach which cost RM1129!

its so darn expensive!
she tried it on, but regretfully i didnt get to take a picture of her in it..
she looked really stunning!
and since she was trying on dresses as well, i went and picked one off the rack..

this dress is  the same price as the one sweetmay tried..

anyhow, we went over to warehouse..
and i’ve been avoiding that place like a plague cos i KNOW the dresses there are gorgeous and they’ll fit me!

its purple, and bareback.. and best of all, IT FITS ME!!!!
it was PERFECT! (yea.. had to find the smallest size… i’m a size 6)
and the price was perfect as well la…
RM549 or something like that….
sigh~
i wish i had a well paying job at these moments..
the dress that was hanging at the side, that was RM800+
but was on 50% discount…
yet that didnt stand out much…
the diamonds on it looked pretty cheap..
still, that was also one dress that fits me perfectly..
ARGH! i’ve gotta remember NEVER to walk into Warehouse!

but all of us never really expected it to get so mentally and physically exhausting…

what is this event about?
A FREE 3hour educational workshop which is fun, engaging, interactive and should not be missed! For all ages, from 12 – 70, we’ll take you through a simple technique-style workhop to teach you how to make music, how to record sound, how to learn to be a dj fast, and how to have good audio in your videos.

Featuring DJ Domingo from Peru and Kevin ‘ProTools’ Chand. Domingo, is an all round musician; playing the keyboard, guitar and some percussion, deejay and salsa man. This guy also can sing and is very funny so be prepared for some laughter during the workshop too.

a little about DJ Domingo
DJ Domingo hails from Peru, he loves Salsa Latino Dance. he is currently touring South East Asia – spinning Latin Dance Music at all the top venues and clubs such as Qbar, Zantica, Bed Supper Club, V9 at the sofitel, Casa Salsa, El Nino, The Salsa Club, La Rueda, Fogo Vivo, and Talisman.

Kevin is a technical geek and he seems to be studying all the time, learning new tricks, putting systems together and always budget and efficiency conscious, in other words, he’ll be able to tell you how to get the best sound for the least amount of capital. he also fixes electronics so if you have one of your dad’s old tube amps lying around, you might want to try get some advice from him.

The workshop in Kuching will be followed by a Latin Dance music event from 7.30pm till late. Admission for this is RM35 (pre-sale) and RM40 (at the door). Tickets available at Jambu Restaurant and is inclusive of Salsa Buffet, 2 drinks and heaps of great Latin music.

The event in Miri is scheduled with a dance latin nite too, so get your dancing shoes ready for this once in a lifetime event with DJ Domingo.

The workshop will launch on the 22nd Nov at 2nd Floor Bridge Times Square, followed by 24th Nov with collaboration with Jambu Restaurant, then to Miri with Halo Cafe and ends in Kota Kinabalu on the 30th at The Rock School.

All workshops will start at 1pm. Please have your lunch prior to coming over. There will be some light refreshments served during a break session, though

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATS!

was out with nicole sweetie-pie yesterday and we got to talking about make up and how i hate smudges..
and being the really nice and helpful person that she is, she gave me some really useful tips!

now, if u do not like your eyeliner smudging after a couple of hours,
her recommendation is that

1. apply WATERPROOF eyeliner
2. grab an eye shadow of the similar colour to your eyeliner
(my own tip: if u’re using black or brown liner, u can always use dark brown eye shadow)
3. dab the eye shadow on to your eye lid evenly (even on the liner)

if u want to apply eyeliner to your lower lid,
1. dab WHITE highlight powder to lower lid (not too much thou.. u dont wanna end up looking like a ghost!)

and if u still oil up like nobody’s business
1. go buy a pair of fake eyelashes
2. stick them on

according to nicole, with the fake eyelashes there, it will NOT smudge anymore
and the best part is, with the fake eyelashes, u do not need to apply liner to the lower lid
the fakie lashes works to open up your eyes beautifully.
makes u look like u have HUGE ASS eyes :)

i’ve tried the first step..
and yes, it works! mwahahahaha

during press conference, we were all to stand in the middle of the room like an exhibition and to be interviewed.
and the only thing i said was, 20.
ahahahahaha.. i know i know, its ONE word..
and its press conference and i’m suppose to be trying to stand out..
but i guess, with everyone ‘fighting’ to answer or to give their two cents worth, i just didnt see the point of ‘pushing my way through’..
plus everyone got interviewed by the press, except for me.
hmmm.. i wonder if that’ll be a problem in the future..
oh well..

anyhow, there were a few questions that were asked
some gave pretty interesting answers
some were vague
some were ’inteligently impressive’
but whatever it is, this is my answer to the questions that i never got a chance to comment on.
(the words werent really strung this way but i cannot remember how exactly it was asked. but the point is there)

question no. 1
when did u first realize that u’ve fallen in love? at what age?
20.
i first realized that i was in love when i was accepting of everything of the other person.
that i thought of him in whatever i did.
that i cared and loved without boundaries or limitations.
that i was willing to do just about anything for him and to be able to see him happy.

question no. 2
how do u define being in love?
i define being in love as being able to accept every single thing of that person no matter how big or small or irritating or immature..
to be able to love without limitations and to not expect anything in return is the ultimate.
and of course when u love someone, u’ll always be thinking of him. always wondering what he is up to, whether he is safe or not.
and than u tend to realise that wherever u go, the things u do or the things u see would remind u of him. and u start to notice and look out for the things that he likes and try to get hold of things that he has always wanted but never got (in reason of course).
its the little little things that matters, really.
like how u are always aware that there are postcards around and that u’ll collect and look out for nice ones everywhere u go knowing that he loves them and collects them.
or that u’ll buy some nice pastries that u know he’ll love.

and than u start to notice the little things about him that makes u go warm and fuzzy inside.
like how he has a different sort of smile when he is looking at u eat,
or that the look of concentration on his face makes him look so adorable,
or that when he is imploring for an answer, the look he gives makes u want to giggle,
or how he always uses the perfume that u said u love on him everytime he goes out with u,
or how he’d spray on his perfume and do a little dance with it,
or how cute he looks when he gets upset while playing computer games,
or how he’d spike his hair a certain way..
(the list goes on.. insert whatever u want to here)

and being in love doesnt necessarily mean being all nervous around that person or when u think about him. No.
being in love brings about a sense of comfort.
it is as though the last missing piece of the puzzle is finally in place.
that everything clicks.
and that is when u feel the irresistable calmness of comfort.
that u know that this is the person that u love and trust.

but of course, before even being in love, there are a lot of things to cover la.. hahaha
(pardon me as i’m an extremely fussy person)
but once u’re over that stage, well, love comes easily.

there are a lot of people who find it hard to fall in love.
that is because they are very guarded.
i am like that.
i am guarded so much so that it takes a hell lot to be in love.
and i’m also a sceptic
but i must admit, when i do love, i love till no end.
and to be able to say, i love u (in this context), he’ll have to be someone whom i am willing to take a bungee jump, into uncertainly, for.
and to quote patrick teoh in Wrecks,
“she was someone worth loving and living for.”
and i want to be able to say that.
that it was/is worth it.
probably that is one of the reasons why i never really had a bf.
i do not see a point in starting something when u do not see yourself marrying him/her.
yes i know it sounds so serious and all, and some might say that if u never try u never know.
but lets just say i’ve tried and they usually dont turn out the way i thought it’ll be
and probably i think a bit too much that i tend to see things in a more rational way.
that if this thing is not gonna work out, there isnt much point in continueing
and yes, certain things u can compromise and learn to live with.
but certain things u just cant force it.

everyone has their own take to the phrase ‘being in love’
everyone has had their own experiences.
and no one is to say what is right and what is wrong.
there are just so many views and takes to this.
it is SO SUBJECTIVE!

but love IS a wonderful thing.
not only when it is to a certain someone, but also when it comes to loving something/anything else.
